Cyclone Wet Lint Collector

Roof mounted TEA Wet Lint Collectors in Multi-Dryer Application

Dry Lint Vs. Wet Lint

Plants with many dryers can generate large quantities of lint.  Since wet lint is only 10% of the volume of dry lint, significant savings can be achieved in lint collection and disposal costs by installing a TEA Cyclone Wet Lint Collector. Plants with high volumes of lint or multiple wet collectors can add an optional Shaker Screen Filtering System that automatically collects all the lint and places it in a dumpster for disposal. In addition, the re-circulated spray water will be micron filtered for the ultimate in low maintenance lint collection.

Thermal Engineering’s Cyclone Wet Lint Collector

When the advantages of a wet lint collector are desired TEA can offer laundries the most advanced collector on the market.

TEA’S exclusive Cyclone design actually harnesses the high dryer exhaust discharge velocities (20 to 30 MPH) and puts it to work.  By directing the dryer inlet ducts into a uniform clockwise direction, the incoming air flows create a high velocity centrifuge inside the lint collector. The constantly turning air stream throws the lint laden spray water against the walls, which flushes any lint down to the bottom cone. It is then discharged through the lint drop for lint separation.

The exhaust air then spirals downward where it impinges against the bottom drain pan removing any remaining entrained droplets or mist from the air stream. The fan then sucks the air through the exhaust duct for discharge to the atmosphere.

The total saturation of the incoming lint laden exhaust air is "guaranteed to remove more lint than any other lint collector."  TEA positions clog resistant, deluge spray nozzles so they spray into the center of each inlet duct port. The high volume of controlled size water droplets insures intimate contact with the lint particles in the air stream. This causes complete wetting of the lint, and it rapidly drops out of the air stream.

TEA "Cyclone Wet Lint Collector" Features

Easy dryer connections allow up to 6 dryer capacity with free air flows of up to 40,000 CFM.

TEA’S direct injection spraying is superior to the roof spray arrangements used by competitors.

All lint collector surfaces are of stainless steel construction.

All welded monolithic construction – no bolted flanges or spot welded joints. TEA units never leak.

A high efficiency aluminum fan is used for long term rust free service. The fan housing is painted with polyurethane enamel for durability.  Variable-speed option available.

Excellent spiral air flow design has the lowest pressure drop.

Large access door is standard for walk-in servicing.

Extra large lint drop pipe to prevent solids plugging.

The round stainless steel reservoir tank is superior to flimsy fiberglass boxes.

Double screening of spray water for trouble-free nozzles.

Dryer exhaust dusts up to 28" diameter attach directly to the TEA supplied inlet collars. No inlet plenums or extra sheet metal work is required.

No internal shelves or baffles to catch lint clumps or rags.

Floor, ceiling, or roof mounting options are available at no extra cost.

Automatic shaker screen lint removal is available as an option.

Round aerodynamic shape reduces wind load forces about 60% over box shape units, when roof mounted.

Structurally superior to any other wet collector available.

Pre-wired motor control center supplied with all units.
